====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== May 21, 2007 Nevada: Update on Homeschool Freedom Bill Hearing Dear HSLDA members and friends, As we mentioned last week, the Nevada Senate passed the Homeschool Freedom bill unanimously. The bill is now in the Assembly Committee on Education, but the meeting time has been changed. The hearing is on Wednesday, May 23 at 3:45. Again, please come to the meeting if you can. It will be held on the third floor, Room 3142. Also, please continue to call and email the members of the Assembly Committee on Education to tell them that you support S.B. 404. ACTION REQUESTED: Please call the members of the Assembly Committee on Education and give them this message: "Please support S.B. 404 introduced by Senator Washington. This bill will better protect parental rights and choice in the area of education. It will also save taxpayers' money by reducing unnecessary bureaucratic oversight over homeschoolers." In order to ensure that all members of the committee receive calls, we urge you to contact a member if he is your assemblyman, as well as six more on the list.
