Dear HSLDA members: Would you like to encourage beginning homeschoolers? Are you looking for a way to provide valuable and accessible information to friends who may be thinking about teaching their children at home? Often parents decide to homeschool or to keep home educating based on the support they receive from other homeschoolers. We'd like you to consider serving the homeschooling community by hosting a "You Can Homeschool" open house. If reaching out to such families is something that's been laid on your heart, Home School Legal Defense Association would like to offer an exciting new resource to you. Recently HSLDA produced a 30-minute DVD called You Can Homeschool--A Closer Look. The DVD features interviews with homeschooling parents and their children, covering such topics as how home education works, how homeschoolers acquire social skills, and how well home education prepares students for college.
