====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== March 14, 2007 New Mexico: Annual Homeschooling Notice of Intent Deadline Approaching Dear HSLDA Members: This is a reminder for those operating under New Mexico's homeschool law that the annual notice of intent is due April 1. According to New Mexico statute, homeschool families are required to notify the state superintendent that they are homeschooling; the notice must include the school district in which the family lives. However, it is not necessary to actually notify your local school district. The notice can be done via the New Mexico Public Education Department website or via mail. To file the notice online, go to http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=3906 and follow the directions. Please note that if you filed online before the option for the 2007-2008 school year was on the site, you will need to refile your notice and use the 2007-2008 option for the notice to be actually received by the Public Education Department. If you choose to file your notice via mail, feel free to use our form which can be found at http://members.hslda.org/state/NM/default.asp (access for members only). The form can then be mailed to Public Education Department--Home School Division, 300 Don Gaspar, Santa Fe, NM 87501-2786.
