====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== March 6, 2007 New Mexico--Your Voice Crucial in Preserving Traditional Family Dear HSLDA members and friends, At 2:30 this afternoon, the New Mexico Senate Public Affairs Committee will be hearing House Bill 603. H.B. 603 permits same-sex couples to enter into spousal unions and to have the same rights, responsibilities, and obligations as married couples. This bill has already passed through the House, so it is vital to stop it today. ACTION REQUESTED: 1) Please call and/or email members of the Senate Public Affairs Committee and, in your own words, give them this message: "Please oppose legislation that recognizes same-sex marriage. Please vote against House Bill 603, which is an attack on traditional marriage, erodes the family and endangers parental rights." You do not need to identify yourself as a homeschooler. Though this bill affects homeschoolers, it also affects every family in New Mexico.
