====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Dear West Virginia HSLDA Members and Friends, Home School Legal Defense Association has been working hard to bring changes to the federal Byrd College Scholarship program so homeschool families can get equal treatment and a fair opportunity to benefit. Right now, unfortunately, they are excluded. William Estrada, of HSLDA's National Center for Home Education, is currently working with Senator Byrd's office on this issue. His staff wonders if any homeschool family in West Virginia really wants access to this scholarship program. They have challenged us to prove that West Virginia homeschoolers want this scholarship. Will you help us prove this? REQUESTED ACTION: If you believe your family would use the Byrd scholarship if it were changed so it was available to you, please explain this in an email and send it to nche@hslda.org Be sure to include your name and home address. If having scholarship money might make the difference in someone in your family either going or not going to college, especially mention that.
