====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== October 23, 2006 HSLDA--Your Vote Crucial in Preserving Homeschool Freedom Dear Nebraska HSLDA members and friends, Election time is fast approaching. This November 7, many state and federal officials are up for re-election. Who is elected will determine what freedoms you will keep and what freedoms you will lose. Exercising your right to vote is crucial. The Voter Guide described below will help you make informed decisions as you cast your vote. Remember, statistics show approximately only 50% of eligible adults actually register to vote. In any given election only about 50% of registered voters vote (that is 25% of adults)! That means only 13% of adults elect any given candidate. Your vote counts! ACTION: To download the Nebraska Family First's 2006 General Election 2006 Voter Guide, click: http://familyfirst.org/images/VoterGuide06_new.pdf If you have not yet used one, you'll be pleased with how easy it is to decide who to vote for by answering the same questions submitted to the candidates and comparing your answers to theirs. Family First's 2006 Voter Guide is nonpartisan and legal for distribution at your church, civic club, etc. You may print, copy, and distribute as many as you wish. Please help spread the word about this new resource for responsible citizenship! Forward this message to your family and friends in Nebraska so they can also download this valuable resource. Monday, November 6 is the last day to cast an early voting ballot at the County Election Office. All Early Voting Ballots must be returned to the Election Office by the closing of polls on Election Day. For information on obtaining an Early Voting (Absentee) Ballot, see http://www.sos.state.ne.us/elec/early_vote.html Thanks for caring! Sincerely, Michael P. Donnelly HSLDA Staff Attorney ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> "I saved my entire membership fee with one discount" "When I called Liberty to find out what kind of discount we could get, they told us we would 10% off our car insurance and 5% off our homeowner's insurance. What we will save is more than double what it costs to join HSLDA. With one child getting his driver's license this year, the savings will be a real blessing!"
