====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== October 2, 2006 Texas Statewide Leadership Forum Dear HSLDA members: We would like to encourage our young homeschoolers, ages 17 through 25, to attend the 22nd annual John Ben Sheppard Public Leadership Conference at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, October 6-8. The purpose of the forum is to inspire, equip, and motivate future leaders to accomplish great things in their communities and beyond. The event will feature prestigious guest speakers, such as Houston Mayor Bill White, Harris County Judge Robert Eckels, Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz, Perfect Attendance Foundation Chairman Pablo Schneider, Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Michael McCaul, Texas Supreme Court Justice Phil Johnson, and many other dynamic local and state leaders. Besides providing seminars, receptions, and group legislative sessions that target problem-solving the issues Texas is facing currently, you will have opportunities to network, make friends, and collaborate with your peers and colleagues at Texas's beautiful State Capitol. In addition to all this, CLE credit is available for legal professionals. You will not want to miss this incredible opportunity! For details about the seminar, and registration information, visit http://www.utpb.edu/jbs/forum.htm . In His Service, Christopher J. Klicka HSLDA Senior Counsel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Can you look at the clouds and tell the direction of the wind? An interesting phenomenon of wind is that it can blow in multiple directions at the same time, at different heights from the ground. But usually there is a prevailing wind. HSLDA watches the gusts and monitors the prevailing trends of change in the legal climate of home education. So no matter which way the wind is blowing, we're there to protect your family.
