Virginia--Homeschool Leadership Conference

Dear HSLDA members:

All homeschool support group leaders, potential leaders, and involved
support group members will not want to miss this one-time event! The
Virginia Homeschool Leadership Conference will be held in Colonial
Williamsburg on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, at the
Woodlands Hotel and Suites Conference Center. The event is hosted by
the Home Education Association of Virginia (HEAV). Details can be
found at .

One of HEAV's most respected and popular conference speakers, Dr. Jeff
Meyers, will share his critical vision for families and leaders,
called "Passing the Baton." You will learn how to effectively pass the
baton of leadership to the next generation--your children.

Our generation will retire from home education as our children
complete homeschooling. Who will build on the foundations we have
laid? Who will stand on our shoulders and carry on? Jeff Meyers will
help us prepare the next generation to lead, a task at which we must
succeed, otherwise everything we have worked for is at risk. Jeff
will help us rethink how we raise our children and how we disciple
others in our neighborhoods, communities, and our churches. "Passing
the Baton" will be a life-changing event for parents and leaders.

The seminar's other speaker will be Senior Counsel Chris Klicka with
the Home School Legal Defense Association. His topic will be "Eternal
Vigilance." Chris will inspire you to keep your eye on the goal. From
his 21 years of experience, he will relate many stories of homeschool
heroes and how God led and delivered them. He will emphasize how the
God who delivered homeschoolers from being treated as outlaws
throughout most of the United States to the point where they now enjoy
freedom in all 50 states, is the same God who is still with us. He
will encourage us to follow in the footsteps of those who have
sacrificed much to make our present-day freedom a reality.

Chris Klicka will also provide strategies and helpful tips on how we
can maintain our freedom and even gain more. He will discuss future
homeschool challenges at both the federal and state level--and how you
can make a difference.

You will be admonished to remain "Eternally Vigilant" in protecting
hard-fought freedoms to homeschool. Chris's heartfelt life message
will inspire you to stay in the race as he exhibits from his own life
the mercy of God and keeping Him in the fight amidst his battles with
multiple sclerosis.

We hope to see you there. HSLDA will be offering a discount on
memberships at the conference, so we urge you to come by the HSLDA
