====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== September 12, 2006 Washington--Declaration of Intent Reminder Dear HSLDA members: For those of you who operate a home-based instruction program under the Washington homeschool law, this is just a reminder that your annual declaration of intent is due by September 15. Parents are required to submit their declaration of intent to the local superintendent or with the superintendent of a nonresident district which accepts the homeschool student as a transfer student under 28A.225.220. The law only requires the declaration of intent to include the name and age for the child and indicate if a certificated person will be supervising the instruction. Washington law also requires declaration of intent form to be in the format prescribed by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, but parents are not required to use their local district's form if it requests additional information. HSLDA has created a declaration of intent form in the format prescribed by the Superintendent of Public Instruction for use by our members. If you would like to use our form you may find it at http://members.hslda.org/state/WA/default.asp .
