-> Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances...

Most homeschools don't need an extreme makeover, but there is
something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of
accomplishments. Watch the media and you'll soon see that not
everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good.
HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators
so it's obvious that we don't need someone "making-over" our
homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we're fine
as we are . . . thank you!

1. Texas: Overzealous House Inspector Becomes 'Family Inspector'

When a member family hired a house inspector to examine their home,
they never suspected he would report them for alleged neglect. We

In one of its last acts before the August recess, Congress approved

home-educated students remained in the bill sent to the President for
his expected signature.

3. New Book Tells Stories of 'Home School Heroes'

Over the past 21 years, HSLDA Senior Counsel Chris Klicka has battled
for homeschool freedoms in all 50 states on behalf of thousands. In
his new book, he tells the stories of early homeschoolers and how they

overcame harassment and opposition to help make homeschooling the
vibrant, growing movement it is today.
