3. Wisconsin: Family Turned in to Social Worker and School District

A Wisconsin family requested help after being harassed by social
services and local public school officials. Home School Legal Defense
Association attorneys helped defuse the situation by showing that the

4. New York: HSLDA to Sue School District over IDEA

Ignoring both the clear intent of Congress and the cogent reasoning of
a federal appeals court, New York officials are trying to force a
member family to submit their child to a government special-needs
evaluation.

Today, almost 6 million children and youth participate in special
education programs supported by IDEA. However, because some public
