====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== March 14, 2006 Pennsylvania--Urgent Calls Needed To Protect Marriage Dear HSLDA members and friends: We have just received word that the Pennsylvania House Committee on State Government will be voting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, on House Bill 2381. This bill is a constitutional amendment to define marriage in Pennsylvania as between one man and one woman. Members of the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives need to know that homeschooling families support this legislation. House Bill 2381 would not only prohibit same-sex marriage but also any form of civil union or domestic partnership between homosexuals. Your immediate communication to the members of the committee will greatly encourage them to send this bill on to the full House for a vote. Crucial to this effort are Democratic Representatives Sean Ramalay and Florindo Fabrizio and Republican Representative David Steil. These legislators are considered key swing votes on this important issue. Please join in this fight to preserve the traditional definition of marriage and family in Pennsylvania. Contact members of the House Committee on State Government and your own state senator and representative today! Action Requested: (1) Please call or write (both would be better) Representatives Ramaley, Fabrizio, Steil, and as many other members of the House Committee on State Government with this message: "Please support House Bill 2381, the Marriage Protection Amendment, which would preserve traditional marriage by defining it as between one man and one woman." Black, III HSLDA Senior Counsel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Have you ever yelled into the wind, only to hear the sound of your voice blown back at you? It's hard to be heard in the midst of a storm. Trying to influence federal legislation is much like yelling to be heard while standing in a fierce wind. Yet when 80,000 voices join together, they become a powerful force that cannot be drowned out. Join HSLDA to be heard above the tempests that threaten homeschool freedoms.
