====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 21, 2006 Dear HSLDA members and friends: The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled another hearing at 8:30 this morning to consider a proposed amendment to the Alaska Constitution which would prohibit same-sex unions similar to marriage. As we told you last week, homosexuals and others who oppose this amendment are waging a fierce lobbying effort to defeat this legislation. Members of the Alaska Senate and House of Representatives need to know that homeschooling families support this legislation. The House version of this bill is House Joint Resolution 32. When contacting members of the House of Representatives, please refer to this bill instead of the Senate version. Please join in this fight to preserve the traditional definition of marriage and family in Alaska. Contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee right now! ACTION REQUESTED: (1) Please call (no time to write) as many members of the Senate Judiciary Committee as possible with this message: "Please support Senate Joint Resolution 20 which would prohibit same-sex unions and preserve traditional marriage between one man and one woman."
