====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Dear HSLDA members and friends: Ever since the Public Education Department began to demand that homeschoolers notify via the Internet, HSLDA has been working closely with CAPE-NM to resolve the problems with this demand. Our arguments against the PED's new policy recently received some additional ammunition. A number of families who attempted to use the PED's homeschool notification web page found that when they clicked "submit," they were greeted with an error page. HSLDA contacted the PED to discover why this was happening, and was informed that they are working to fix the problem. In the meantime, though, your notifications are getting through. Even though the browser displays an error message, the notification information is transmitted to the appropriate officials. If you choose to notify online, please only click "submit" once, so that the PED does not receive multiple copies of your notification. If you choose to submit a paper notification, HSLDA will assist members if PED officials choose to cause you any difficulties.
