====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Texas--Marriage Amendment to Constitution Passes Dear HSLDA members and friends: Last Tuesday, Texas became the 19th state to pass a constitutional amendment affirming that marriage is only between one man and one woman. In addition. the amendment bans recognition of any civil union disguised as marriage. There was a record turnout for an off year election and 76% of voters approved the constitutional amendment. Earlier this year, the marriage amendment was in danger of failing in the legislature. The efforts of homeschoolers helped pass the amendment through the legislature so it could be voted on by the people. Thank you for taking the time to vote to pass this crucial amendment! This is a significant victory for the family.
