a social worker and a police officer on your doorstep. The social
worker has received a report of abuse or neglect about your family and
they want to interview your children and inspect your house. You
acquiesce because you fear being arrested for not cooperating with the
investigation.

2. Virginia - Colonial Beach School District Principal Steps Out of
Bounds

After an HSLDA member decided to homeschool one of their children the
school district stepped in with extra demands.

3. Arkansas - District Seeks Social Security Numbers

At the beginning of the current school year, the South Conway County
School District in Morrilton provided homeschoolers with a notice of
intent form requesting the social security number for each child to be
taught at home.

4. Connecticut - Compliance with State Guidelines Not Mandatory

Homeschoolers in the Kiel Area School District were surprised when
they were told to submit their "paperwork" to the Department of Public
Instruction prior to September 1, 2005.
