====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== October 11, 2005 Virginia--Parent-Taught Driver Education Program Approved Dear HSLDA members and friends: The National Driver Training Institute (NDTI) parent-taught driver education course is now approved in the State of Virginia. NDTI provides the classroom portion of the driver education course via correspondence course with parental supervision. The parent can also teach the "behind-the-wheel" portion separately. HSLDA worked with the Virginia Department of Education and the Department of Motor Vehicles over the last year to help ensure a smooth process for homeschoolers. The website of the Virginia DMV has more information regarding the in-car portion of the course, (refer to the Home-Schooled In-Car Driver Education Information Sheet (HS-3)).
