====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Wisconsin--Annual Notice Reminder Dear HSLDA members: This is just a reminder for those operating under Wisconsin's homeschool regulations that your annual notice of intent to homeschool is due October 15. Wisconsin statutes require every homeschool family to submit a statement of enrollment to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), indicating whether the homeschool meets all the requirements under the law. You will be asked the following questions, and to meet all the requirements of a home-based program under Wisconsin's homeschool regulations you must be able to answer "True" to the following statements: a. "primary purpose of the program is to provide private or religious-based education," b. "the program is privately controlled," c. the program provides at least 875 hours of instruction each school year, d. "the program provides a sequentially progressive curriculum of fundamental instruction" in the Required Subjects: (which "does not require the program to include in its curriculum any concept, topic or practice in conflict with the program's religious doctrines," or exclude any such topic), and e. the program is not operated to circumvent the compulsory attendance law. If your school system or DPI asks you to provide information in addition to the above requirements, please let us know. The form is available by calling 608-266-5761 or toll free 1-888-245-2732, ext. 1. The DPI mails the forms out every Friday. It should be completed and submitted to the DPI at the following address: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction School Management Services/Home-Based 125 South Webster Street P.O.
