====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== July 13, 2005 Colorado--Action Still Needed To Protect Parent Taught Driver's Education Dear HSLDA members and friends: Thank you to all of you who attended the hearing at the Department of Revenue or who sent letters to the Governor to oppose the limitation in parental choice in driver's education. Wayne Tully reported that he received 210 letters to give to the Governor. Because of your stand in opposing this limitation of parental rights, the legislature knows that they will have a fight on their hands if they pursue this legislation. Wayne Tully also reported that the testimonies and statistics that were presented at the hearing did not fall on deaf ears. In fact, there were only two comments arguing against parental choice and the majority of people from various driving schools spoke in favor of parental choice. Your letters and testimonies are working! Action Requested: Letters are still needed to voice your opinion concerning the importance of leaving parents with the choice to control all of their children's driving instruction.
