from overseas, judges in the Fourth Annual Home School Legal Defense
Association Essay Contest were hard-pressed to whittle down the essays
to only the top six in each category.

2. Homeschooling Through High School Survey

HSLDA is designing a program to help our members homeschool through
the high school years. Would you take a few minutes to complete our

3. Washington - Greater Protection In CPS Investigations

Investigations by Child Protective Services can be a terrible burden.
However, the Governor signed a bill that will give families in
Washington greater protection from overzealous soical workers.

4. Mississippi - Senate Bill Extending Compulsory Attendance
Requirement Dies

The Mississippi legislature considered six bills this year to make
changes to the compulsory school attendance age, which would have
given the state more control over children. Fortunately, the bills
have been defeated.

George Washington Carver displayed many admirable traits that will
inspire your whole family. Instill a love for knowledge in your
