~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home School Foundation Report ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May/June 2005 Across the nation and even the world, needy homeschoolers are experiencing the care of a gracious God through people just like you. S.J., a widow we recently helped, writes: "The money has helped me to continue to homeschool. Most importantly, the true compassion that your words showed blessed us at such a critical time. Jesus has and always will be by our side. Thank you for showing His love to these children when have needed it so very much." This is the mission of the Home School Foundation - to offer financial assistance to needy homeschoolers such as widows, families with special needs children, and other homeschoolers in difficult financial situations. We desire those we help to experience the words of the Psalmist: "Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!" --------------------------------------------------------------------- Calling Grandma's Secret Pumpkin Pie and Little Suzy's Favorite Oatmeal Cookies! We're always dishing up something new here at the Home School Foundation as we seek to further serve needy homeschoolers. Our newest project is a cookbook, designed especially for homeschoolers. This wire-bound cookbook will not only feature carefully selected recipes, but also feature handy tips for homeschooling. Expected to be available early next spring, the cookbook will raise proceeds for the Foundation's Compassion fund. How can you help now? We're looking for favorite family recipes for everything from Aunt Betty's Potato Salad to the secret cookie recipe Grandma guards jealously. Send your recipes to Elizabeth@homeschoolfoundation.org. It only takes a minute to type one up, but you're making a short investment now that will eventually help us give to needy homeschoolers. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2005 Poetry Contest a Huge Success This spring, the Home School Legal Defense Association held its first annual Poetry Contest, with all proceeds going to the Special Needs Children's Fund. We expected response to be slow, but the entries piled up. Receiving over 175 poems, the contest raised over $1,000 for families with special needs children! Want to see the winning poems?
