1. School District Questions Homeschool Hours

A local public school pressured a member family in Opp, Alabama to
comply with the compulsory school attendance law. HSLDA intervened.

2. Attendance Records Tied to Drivers' Licenses

Georgia - Until HSLDA became involved a member family in the Towns
County School District experienced difficulty obtaining a certificate
to present to the Department of Public Safety in order to obtain a
driver's license for one of their children.

3. Winnebago County Unjustifiably Requires State Approval for
Homeschools

When an HSLDA member family in Winnebago County, Illinois, decided to
withdraw their child from public school in order to homeschool him,
the Regional Superintendent of Schools replied to the family's letter
of withdrawal with a letter of his own.
