The senators heard your message, and the bill was defeated. The Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee held a hearing on the bill on March 22. On March 25, the Committee voted to give S.B. 913 an unfavorable report, which effectively defeated the bill. If S.B. 913 had become law, homeschoolers would have had two more years of unnecessary and burdensome paperwork from local school systems. With your help, however, the state's attempt to expand jurisdiction over your children has been stopped. Thank you for working to help defeat this harmful bill. Sincerely, Scott A.
