Illinois--Calls Needed to Senate Today to Stop the Compulsory
Attendance Bill
Dear HSLDA members and friends:
Thank you for your many calls to the Senate Education Committee.
Your calls are having an effect as Senators are scrambling to amend
the compulsory attendance bill (Senate Bill 409) to somehow exempt
homeschoolers (i.e. private schools).
One more outpouring of calls to the entire Senate may stop this bill
when it is voted on today or possibly tomorrow.
ACTION REQUESTED
Please call your Senator and give him this message:
"Please vote against Senate Bill 409, which lowers the compulsory
attendance age. This bill is unnecessary. It restricts parental choice
and wastes taxpayer money."
Do not identify yourself as a homeschooler.
