Illinois--Calls Needed - Senate Voting on Harmful Bill
Dear HSLDA members and friends:
Senate Bill 409, which will expand the state's control over your
children for two more years, is scheduled for a vote by the full
Senate on Wednesday, April 6. Your calls are needed to stop this
harmful legislation before it passes to the House.
S.B. 409 passed the Senate Education Committee on March 17, despite an
outpouring of calls from Illinois homeschoolers. This bill must be
stopped in the Senate, as we cannot allow the compulsory attendance
age to be lowered from 7 to 5. We need to keep calling until the bill
is defeated.
ACTION REQUESTED
Please call your Senator and give him this message:
"Please vote against S.B. 409, which lowers the compulsory attendance
age. This bill is unnecessary. It restricts parental choice and
wastes taxpayer money."
Do not identify yourself as a homeschooler.
