====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== March 31, 2005 Looking for a Mystery Mom We need your help in solving a mystery! HSLDA is looking for a rare-gem-of-a-mom to fill a position, and we would very much appreciate you joining us in our search. Here are the clues we're working with: * Her current residence is in the Northern Virginia area. * She has successfully homeschooled her children through high school and has graduated her last child, yet maintains a strong interest in homeschooling. * Her middle name starts with a "P" and sounds very much like..."patience." * She is familiar with a broad spectrum of available curricula and various learning styles. * Her understanding of transcripts and ways to document educational progress is apparent. * She has helped a student or two navigate the college admissions process. * And one of her walls may well be adorned with a college diploma with her name on it. Other recognizable characteristics include: - a servant's heart, - a teachable spirit, - a desire to see others succeed, - and a strong ability to balance gracious listening with thoughtful suggestions. Have you seen this woman? If so, please encourage her to read our job description for a "high school consultant" at http://www.hslda.org/about/jobs/ We'd love to have this case solved; you can make it happen! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> There may be a shortage of the flu vaccine, but there's no shortage of legal protection for homeschoolers. HSLDA is 80,000 families standing together for the right of each family to teach their children at home. You don't have to stand alone against those who think homeschoolers should be regulated and controlled. Joining a team of home educators who will stick with you may be just what the doctor ordered for your homeschool . . . and your peace of mind.
