A Home School Legal Defense Association member family in the Phoenix
area was recently contacted by a social worker who insisted that she
talk with their children and conduct a home visit.

3. Changes in Compulsory Attendance Ages Proposed

Home School Legal Defense Association opposes lowering the compulsory
attendance age, because this erodes the authority of parents who are
in the best position to determine when their child's formal education
should begin.

4. Charges Dismissed Against Family

Virginia - On Friday, February 28th, the Franklin County Juvenile and
Domestic Relations Court dismissed all charges against an HSLDA member
who had been charged with truancy.
