Virginia--Calls Needed Urgently Monday Morning--Testing Freedom in Hands of Conference Committee
Dear HSLDA members and friends:
Your voices were heard!
Today the Senate rejected the harmful House version of House Bill 1770 and requested a conference committee. The conference committee will consist of 3 Senators and 3 Delegates.
We expect the conference committee to meet and vote on Monday.
It is crucial that they protect testing freedom. We do not know who will be chosen to be on the committee, so it's vital that we call all Senators and Delegates.
ACTION REQUESTED
1. Please call your Senator and Delegate on Monday morning and ask him to oppose the House version of HB 1770 and restore the Senate version. Your message can be as simple as, "Please oppose the House version of HB 1770 and restore the Senate version."
Call the Constituent Viewpoint switchboard to leave a message for your Senator and Delegate. You can use (800) 889-0229 if you live outside the Richmond area or (804) 698-1990 if you live in Richmond.
If you do not know who your Senator or Delegate are, you can use our legislative toolbox at http://www.hslda.org/toolbox/
2. Please pass this on to others. We need as many calls as possible!
Thank you for standing with us for freedom!
Sincerely,
Scott A. Woodruff HSLDA Staff Attorney
