====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 1, 2005 North Dakota - House Bill 1265 Passes House - Calls Still Needed Dear HSLDA members and friends: Good news! On Monday of this week the House of Representatives unanimously passed House Bill 1265. This bill would change North Dakota law to permit all children with developmental disabilities to be homeschooled. Thank you for your faithfulness in contacting state representatives to bring about passage by the House. However, the battle for increased freedom is not over, because the bill must now pass the Senate before it goes to the Governor to be signed into law. Your state senator needs to hear from you on this bill. ACTION REQUESTED: 1. Please contact your state senator with this message: "Please vote for House Bill 1265. This bill would allow parents to homeschool their developmentally disabled children as every other state permits." You can find the name and telephone number of your state senator by using HSLDA's Legislative Toolbox at: http://capwiz.com/hslda/state/main/?state=ND&view=stateofficials#1 2. Please forward this e-mail to every homeschooling family you know who is not a member of HSLDA and urge them to contact members their state senator.
