-> How many acorns can a chipmunk hold in its cheeks?

We don't know! But we do know that gathering little by little
enables ordinary folks to prepare for hard times. That principle
is behind HSLDA's payment plan: by paying a month at a time,
families can receive an annual HSLDA membership. Meanwhile, they
can feel secure as they homeschool and focus on other priorities
-their children. Don't go nuts trying to pay for membership all at
once. Choose one of our convenient payment plans.

1. Washington Times Op-ed - Who Better Than Family to Instill Values?

This holiday season, let's all take some time to reflect on our
families and determine whether homeschooling is the answer we've been
seeking to train our children to be the sons and daughters we want
them to be.

2. Court of Appeals Backs HSLDA

On November 18, 2004, the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans'
Affairs sided with HSLDA, denying the Veterans Administration's
petition for reconsideration in the Appeal of George R. Theiss. This
is a big win for homeschoolers across the board, not just for
homeschooling veterans.

3. Registration by Any Other Name

In September, HSLDA convinced the Providence school district's
Director of Counseling and Social Services to stop demanding that
homeschool families "register" their children with the district.

4. Franklin County School Board Does the Right Thing

Several member families in Franklin County recently filed for a
religious exemption from compulsory attendance as allowed by law in
Virginia. However, the assistant superintendent demanded to meet with
each family.

5. Homeschool Heartbeat: "Little House" Versus My House: Dispelling
Perfectionist Myths

Are there days when you feel like your homeschool doesn't measure up
to anyone's expectations--not even your own? Guess what--that's okay!
