====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== May 17, 2004 Iowa--Governor Vilsack Vetoes Drivers Education Bill Dear HSLDA members and friends: Defying the entreaties of thousands of homeschool families, Governor Vilsack last week vetoed a bill that would have allowed homeschool parents to teach drivers education to their own children. The legislature had previously passed the bill with wide margins in both houses. As elections approach in November, this dramatically reminds us of the importance of electing people who value liberty. Your hard work, perseverance, and prayers have not been in vain.
