Home School Heartbeat: Marriage and Homeschooling Plus: Homeschooling in the News Libraries up for adoption? ===================================================================== It's easy to adopt a library! Unlike most adoptions, no home-study is required. For a tax-deductible donation of $35, we'll send you an attractive poster and display box filled with 150 You Can Homeschool brochures, along with five homeschooling classics that we're able to include at our cost. The kit will be your gift to the library. And when the brochures run out, there's a number on the box they can call to order more-for free. Check out the program at: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?ID=1470 ...................................................................... 1. Washington Times Op-ed -- Homeschooling Strengthens Families and Communities A recent headline in the Dallas Morning News stated "Despite good schools, more kids learning at home." So why would these parents decide to homeschool if they already had good schools right on their doorstep? Governor Warner Amends Homeschool Freedom Bill Governor Warner's convoluted amendment is unacceptable, so we are urging everyone to call their Delegate and Senator to kill Warner's amendment when it comes to a vote this Wednesday. Homeschool Software Testers Needed An educational software development company, Hunter Systems, has spent the last couple of years developing an all-in-one homeschool management system designed to help the "homeschool office manager" in your home succeed--and get on with the business of teaching. Before they launch their product, they'd like 50 HSLDA members to give them some input based on "real world" experience. Interested?
