Iowa--Homeschool Driver's Education Heads to Governor
Dear Iowa HSLDA members and friends,
The Iowa senate heard your message!
HF 2394 was overwhelmingly approved (36-12) late yesterday following
lengthy debate. One senator tried to attach a harmful amendment, but
was unsuccessful.
Many homeschool mothers and fathers made phone calls, rallied at the
senate, and made other personal efforts to help achieve this victory.
Thank you!
The Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators has been working hard
for over a year to give Iowa homeschool parents the right to teach
driver's education. The last step is the governor's signature. By
signing it, he can demonstrate that he is as serious as the house and
senate about saving young lives on Iowa highways.
ACTION REQUESTED:
It is very important that Governor Vilsack hears from you
immediately. Please call him at (515) 281-5211 ask him to sign the
bill. Your message may be as simple as:
"Please sign HF 2394. It will allow parents to teach driver education
to their homeschooled children. This is about saving young lives.
Statistics show that lives are saved and accidents are prevented when
homeschool parents teach driver's education to their own children."
