====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== March 2, 2004 Hawaii--Announcing the 2004 CHOH Conference Dear HSLDA members and friends: Thank you for your loyalty and partnership with Home School Legal Defense Association. Only by working together can we defend homeschool freedom and keep the cost of membership low. We want to let you know that we will soon be at an event in your area on March 19 and 20. The 2004 Christian Homeschoolers of Hawaii (CHOH) Conference will be held at Kalihi Union Church, 2214 North King Street, Honolulu. HSLDA President J. Michael Smith and HSLDA Senior Counsel Christopher J. Klicka will be the keynote speakers at this event. Mike Smith will be speaking on "Balancing Responsibilities: Family & Homeschooling," "Triumph Through Adversity," "How To Overcome Fear of Failure in Homeschooling," and "The Father's Role in Home Education." Chris Klicka's topics will include "A Challenge to Homeschool Fathers," "The Homeschool Teenager: Standing Against the Tide," "Understanding Suffering in the Midst of Homeschooling, and "Can a Homeschooler Be Admitted to and Succeed in College?" Again this year, we are offering a special incentive for new members. First-time members who join HSLDA at the 2004 CHOH Conference will receive a free book. Invite three of your friends to come to the conference and sign up as new members. If they note on their applications that you referred them, you'll receive a free year of membership when their memberships are approved! We are also excited to announce our new "Join for Two" and "Renew for Two" promotions to encourage both new and current members to commit to two years of membership.
