Minnesota--Homeschoolers Respond-Will the Sponsor?
Dear HSLDA members and friends:
Thank you for your immediate and effective response to House Bill
1787! Multiple sources indicate that this bill is unlikely to move
this session. Your message has gotten through-there is no need to
continue to call members of the Education Committee.
I have spoken to the aide for Rep. Mindy Greiling to explain why this
legislation is a problem for homeschoolers. The aide assures me that
Rep. Greiling had no intention to harm homeschoolers, and says that
the bill would be amended to make sure it has no effect on
homeschoolers. I have asked the Representative to either withdraw
this legislation or to provide me with the text of her proposed
amendment. I will keep our members posted on her response.
