A Note from the Director

The Stirring of the Waters

Almost 2000 years ago, in the heart of Jerusalem around a pool called
Bethesda, a multitude of sick and maimed people lay waiting, some for
many years, all in hope of a stirring of the waters. For when the
water was stirred, miracles happened. (John 5)

Today, broken and hurting families still watch for the stirring of
the waters, wating for miracles in their but not so much in physical

From what we've seen recently, it seems that God is beginning to stir
in the hearts of His people to bring comfort to many homeschooling
families. Here's why I say this.

* In July we received a call from a gentleman in Michigan who feels a
strong desire to help the homeschooling widows in his county with
some financial assistance.

* Not long afterwards, a man in North Carolina called saying that he
wanted to help anonymously a lady recently widowed in his church so
that she could keep homeschooling, without the pressure of going back
to work.

* Two months later a gentleman from California called and expressed a
passion he has to help homeschooling widows by eventually setting up
a ranch where they can come to live for a time and get on their feet.

* And about a month later I received a call from a man in Florida who
expressed that he and his wife are feeling a burden to help widows,
and perhaps single moms, so that they can afford to keep
homeschooling, and not have to take a job.

Alone, these events might seem random and insignificant. Together,
however, they appear to us as ripples from a burden God has dropped
into the hearts of His people across the country.

If you have sensed this same burden, please be encouraged that God is
at work in other hearts as well, and we at HSF will be glad to help
you in any way we can to be a part of what God is doing.

And if you are among the hurting families waiting by the pool, be
encouraged to know that God is at work; He has not forgotten you!
