---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- September 11, 2003 Dear HSLDA Member or Friend: Homeschoolers successfully put the brakes on Johnston's effort to ease a new homeschool policy into place with little public scrutiny. A number of homeschoolers attended the meeting of the school committee Tuesday night, including Mike and Sue Wroblewski, of Rhode Island Guild of Home Teachers (RIGHT), Chris Childs, also of RIGHT, Paul Gondreau, and Tony Esolen. They convinced the school committee to table the proposed policy. This gives Johnston homeschoolers an opportunity to analyze the policy and work to create a better one.
