1. Military Enlistment Program for Homeschoolers Likely Extended

A 5 year pilot program, scheduled to end in October, that allows
homeschooled graduates enlist in the military at the highest
enlistment status, will likely be extended.

2. Homeschool Freedom Grows in Taiwan

The Taiwanese government has been favorable toward homeschooling
families because of the commitment of the homeschool movement to work
with the government in a peaceable and respectful fashion.

3. HSLDA Hosts Congressional Staff Briefing

Staff responsible for education policy in approximately twenty five
congressional districts, as well as professional staff from the House
Education and Workforce Committee, attended the luncheon held at the

4. Daytime Curfew Defeated in Big Spring, Texas

Daytime curfews have caused many problems for homeschoolers, who tend
to have flexible school hours and can go to jobs and field trips
during the day.
