NFTE holds an annual competition to reward students who have
demonstrated entrepreneurial ability to encourage a new generation of
entrepreneurs. The organization partners with schools and colleges in
order to reach out to students who wish to pursue new ideas in the
business field.

3. Texas Bill Repealing Immunization Exemption Likely Dead

The many calls homeschoolers made to the Texas Legislature have had
an impact.

4. Homeschool Graduates Honored in Puerto Rico

Although many homeschoolers of Puerto Rico have graduated and been
admitted to colleges in the past, this is the first year
homeschoolers can take advantage of the University of Puerto Rico's
new admissions policy.

5. Second HSLDA Essay Contest Better Than Ever

Almost 450 students sent in essays this year, 180 more than last
year. Narrowing the entries down to the top six in each category took
over a month of careful scrutiny.

6. Home School Heartbeat: Homeschooling in the Black Community

Anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that homeschooling is growing in
the black community. Mike Smith discusses this with Eric and Joyce
