---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- July 10, 2003 Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, I wanted to take a minute and let you know about a great opportunity for homeschoolers to begin college through distance learning. This past spring semester Patrick Henry College began offering online distance learning courses for the first time. This coming fall semester PHC will be offering 14 high quality courses through distance learning. It is not uncommon for homeschool students to begin taking college classes while still a junior or senior in high school. Living at home, these students are able to further their education and begin building credit toward a college degree. Another advantage is that it allows students to ease into the college experience from the comfort of their home, without the added pressures of living on campus. The deadline for fall registration is July 25. As an added benefit, Home School Legal Defense Association members will receive a 5% discount off of tuition for the PHC distance learning courses.
