Only by working together can we defend homeschool freedom and keep the cost of membership low. We want to let you know that we will soon be at an event in your area on July 11, 12, and 13, 2003. The 20th Annual Christian Home Educators Association of California (CHEA of CA) Christian Home Educators Convention will be held at the Ontario Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Way, Ontario. HSLDA President J. Michael Smith will be speaking on "Home Ed Basics 102: Basic Law for Home Educators," "Social Services Contacts," "Remembering The Reason- Renewing the Vision," and "Seven Secrets to a Successful Family." His wife Elizabeth will offer workshops on "Getting Them Ready to Learn and Love it," "Beyond Text Books to Creative Curriculum," and "Balancing Home, Marriage, and Homeschooling." Again this year, we are offering a special incentive for new members. First-time members who join HSLDA at the 20th Annual CHEA of CA Christian Home Educators Convention will receive a free book. Invite three of your friends to come to the conference and sign up as new members. If they note on their applications that you referred them, you'll receive a free year of membership when their memberships are approved! We are also excited to announce our new "Join for Two" and "Renew for Two" promotions to encourage both new and current members to commit to two years of membership.
