Florida--Parental Rights Victory Over Grandparents Visitation Legislation

From the HSLDA E-lert Service...

April 22, 2003

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,

Your calls have made a difference! The offending anti-parental rights
language in the grandparent's bill has been removed largely due to
your efforts.

to prohibit a relationship between the minor and the grandparents or

As a result of the opposition from homeschoolers, the Senate
Judiciary has approved a committee substitution for S.B. 128 which
removes the language that would allow grandparents to sue for
visitation when married parents choose to prohibit an unhealthy

This bill died last year due to homeschooler opposition to that same
offending language. It seems that the legislature has listened to
your calls!

HSLDA will continue to monitor this legislation and will inform you
of updates at:

Thank you for taking the time to protect parental rights.
