Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,
On April 4, the Maine Legislature's Education and Cultural Affairs
Committee voted "Ought Not To Pass" on Legislative Document 390. This
bill would have increased the age of compulsory attendance from 16 to
18 years of age. Your calls had a tremendous impact!
LD 390's defeat at the committee level means that it is dead for the
year. Thank you for standing with us to protect the right of parents
to choose what is best for their older students.
