After the hard work of many, and numerous telephone calls from home educators, Senate Bill 295 passed the Senate 31-19. This reversed an earlier Senate vote of 24-25 against the bill. Parent-taught driver's education in Montana is one step closer to reality. SB 295 has now been sent on to the House where there will be a committee hearing in the next couple of weeks. Please contact your state representatives and urge them to vote in favor of SB 295. REQUESTED ACTION Please call or email your state representatives expressing your support of Senate Bill 295. You may use this suggested message: "Please vote in favor of Senate Bill 295 which would authorize parents to teach driver's education to their children. This legislation will guarantee access to driver's education to all students." To get the name of your state representative, use HSLDA's Legislative Toolbox at http://www.hslda.org/toolbox.
