1. New Maryland Homeschool Regulations Delayed

The Maryland State Board of Education voted on December 4 to delay
any decision on the proposed new homeschool regulation until their
February meeting and instructed the state department of education to
create a committee composed of homeschoolers to discuss the issues.

2. Trouble in Ware, Massachusetts

On Thursday, December 12, 2002, the Ware School Committee will have
one final opportunity to avoid embarrassing and costly litigation.

3. Maine Homeschoolers' Sports Eligibility Challenged

A Maine Principal's Association memo outlined severe restrictions on
the ability of Chapter 130 homeschoolers to participate on the sports
teams of private schools.

4. Nevada Board of Education to Vote on Homeschool Regulation

Although we have every indication the Board intends to approve the
changes homeschoolers have requested, we encourage families to attend
