1. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Passes CEDAW

This vote in favor of the treaty was not unexpected. We are pleased,
however, that some of the Senators which were "on the fence", came
our way in the final hours.

2. First HSLDA Essay Contest a Success!

Hundreds of dedicated home school students participated in the first
Home School Legal Defense Association Essay Contest. We've now posted
the winning essays.

3. Congressional Breakthrough in Child Welfare Reform

HSLDA has successfully attached three key amendments to the U.S.
House version of CAPTA, which we also expect to pass in the Senate.
These amendments will increase protections for parents facing an
unfounded child abuse investigation.

4. A Dangerous Georgia Law -- What Does It Mean for Home Schoolers?

Though home schooling is legal in all fifty states, laws remain on
the books that open home schooling families up to frivolous and
dangerous lawsuits.

5. Wyoming Continues to Offer Free Lunches
