---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, Home School Legal Defense Association thanks you for your loyalty and partnership with us. Only by working together can we defend home school freedom and keep the cost of membership low. We want to let you know that we will be at an event in your area on July 12-14. The 19th Annual Christian Home Educators Association (CHEA) of California Convention will be held at the Ontario Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Way, Ontario, California. HSLDA Chairman and General Counsel Michael P. Farris will be speaking on "Battle for Your Family--Battle for America," "Home Schooling the Large Family," "Teaching Your Children the Constitution," "The Spiritual Power of a Mother," and "Character Stories." In addition, he will be offering a Constitutional Law Symposium for teens on Friday. I will be speaking on "Home Education 102: Basic Law for Home Schoolers," "The Angry Child: What Makes Johnny Ticked Off," and "Balancing Responsibilities of Family & Home Schooling." I will also be on a panel discussing "Social Service Contacts." Again this year, we are offering a special incentive for new members. First-time members who join HSLDA at the 19th Annual CHEA of California Convention will receive a free book. Invite three of your friends to come to the conference and sign up as new members. If they note on their applications that you referred them, you'll receive a free year of membership! In addition, existing members who renew for two years at the conference receive a free book.
