Come and meet top Cabinet Officials. On Friday, May 31, Interior Secretary Gale Norton, HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson, and Fran Mainella Director of the National Park Service will host an event to celebrate National Trails Day. The event will be held at the C & O Canal National Historical Park in Washington, D.C. at 10:00 a.m. Kids are encouraged to come with hiking shoes and bikes to enjoy the outdoors. Boyscouts and Girlscouts are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Secretary Norton will be encouraging people to get out and explore on June 1, National Trails Day. In addition, we will be promoting the health benefits to be gained by walking and bicycling on trails. If you and your family can attend, please RSVP to: Robbie_Wilbur@ios.doi.gov. The exact location will be emailed to you on Thursday.
