competition's history, walked away from the event as the contest
champion, earning a $25,000 college scholarship.

The school district in Yonkers, New York, recently sent out a letter
to many home schoolers in the district that tried to force them all
to take standardized tests every year.

7. HSLDA Calls California Social Worker's Bluff

A Los Angeles County, California member answered her door and was
shocked to find a social worker demanding entrance into her home. She
was so scared she could barely dial the phone correctly, but she
called Home School Legal Defense Association for help.
