---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- April 25, 2002 Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, Home School Legal Defense Association is happy to announce that the determined efforts of home schoolers have been successful. On April 23, 2002, the Senate approved the Wachtmann amendment to House Bill 402. (For more information on this bill, and why the amendment was needed, see our previous elerts at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?ID=408 ) The bill will now go back to the House for a concurring vote. We do not expect any problems here since both the Ohio Department of Commerce and the primary sponsor of H.B. 402, Representative Collier, support the Wachtmann amendment. An important but often neglected part of good lobbying is feedback after the vote. HSLDA urges you to communicate with your senator your feelings about his or her vote. You can find your Senator's name and telephone number by using our "legislative toolbox" (click: http://www.hslda.org/toolbox).
